A workshop on environmental criminal law in the Nordic countries initiated and funded by the Scandinavian Research Council for Criminology, was recently completed.

When the Unforeseen is Seen was a workshop on crises and society held at the University of Iceland in December 3-5, 2009, and in January 3-5, 2011.

The aim of the project was to encourage green criminological research, to publish an anthology focusing on central issues within the field, establish a Nordic network for scholars working with issues connected to the field and to organize an international conference on the central themes of green and eco-global criminology.

The Finnish Government made a decision of principle to fight economic crime in 1996. The decision included an Action Plan, initially a three-year programme of proposals for reforms in the control of economic crime. The programme was extended three times, and the fourth action plan 2006-2009 is currently being implemented. Similar initiatives against economic crime have been put into operation also other Nordic countries.

This project aims at identifying, analyzing and comparing scientific articles and books on centres for juvenile delinquents in order to discern how the theme “conflict” has been touched upon (preferably but not solely conflicts between staff members and inmates).

The aims of this report is to analyze and interpret which consequences the non-taxed work has for the interaction between Polish non-taxed workers and Swedish/Danish employers. Further the image of non-taxed workers and Swedish employers has been investigated, as well as the meeting between the Swedish/Danish welfare society and the Polish non-taxed work and finally the interaction between Swedish authorities and the actors of the black-market.
