December 7th was the deadline for the 2023 call for research funding.

– We are happy and excited that we have received 23 applications in total asking for more than 12,000,000 NOK in research funding.

The applications involve criminological research environments from all the Nordic countries, and we see a blend of traditional and new criminological topics.

– Even though we will not be able to grant everyone funding, these are exiting times for Nordic criminological research, says Chair of the Council, professor Heidi Mork Lomell.

Both the number of applications as well as the themes demonstrate innovative research ideas in the Nordic criminal justice sector.

The Council will meet in March 2023 to decide who will be awarded research grants for 2023. This will be announced shortly after the Council has convened for its annual meeting.
